Venus in Aries: Mirror Work with the Masculine

Venus’s transit through Aries represents a significant journey for the feminine.

Venus and the Feminine

Venus represents the feminine, which in spiritual terms is defined by the energy of reception. Venus is partnership. She is mirror work. She brings reflection and awareness of the self through the understanding and experience of other people.

Feminine energy walks the world from this reflective lens and that shapes their reality. Feminine people are more likely to express compassion and empathy and are more likely to compare themselves to others.

Feminine energy learns from the people and relationships around them and uses that knowledge when it comes to understanding themselves and their relationship with the world.

The feminine receives. She lets the world know what she would like to receive, and then she allows herself to receive it.

She embarks on this process by learning how to do, or not do, from those around her.

She is self-starting and initiating too, but not in the same way we see with the masculine. She initiates connection and relationships, but she allows herself to receive what she seeks from the world instead.

Aries and the Masculine

Aries represents the masculine, which energetically is defined by external action.

The masculine is an action taker. It’s primal. It’s desire oriented, and when a desire arises, the masculine acts on it.

The masculine experiences the world around them in a very focused way. It can be warrior-like, and it’s important when you have a passion that you don’t get distracted by anything else. Instead, you let your inner fire fuel you.

As a result, he deals with an unpaved path.

Even if there was a paved path, he wouldn’t want to walk it.

Compared to the feminine, that means that the masculine isn’t as involved in the reflection and the reception process. Instead, he just acts where he feels called to act.

And as a result, he learns a lot from the reactions to his actions. That is where his reflection takes place and his growth comes from what he does next.

Venus wearing the Aries Robe

While Venus is moving through Aries, it’s like her energies are wearing an Aries robe. You take the vibration of Venus, feminine, reception, partnership, balance, harmony, and you filter it through the lens of Aries, masculine, bold, brave, passionate, independent, pioneering.

When you do that, you get this process of having to do things in a totally different way! Yin is expressing her energy through Yang, and she gets to adapt.

Temporarily, where the feminine shows up, she gets to show up in a masculine way.

This means, learning a lot through the reactions to your actions. How are other people, the energy of Venus, responding to you? What are they saying?

What might you be missing that you may usually see?

Venus is here to bring harmony, in Aries, she’s learning how to do that in a totally new way. There is no path to follow!

Like a true Aries warrior, if you set your sights on finding your way, you will, but it’s important to acknowledge where you are having to make do with some uncomfortable energy.

And in the lens of the lessons of Venus, how can you benefit from this time?

Lessons from Venus

Venus teaches us about balance, partnership, and seeing the other point of view. She represents the feminine, so the part of her that expresses in you is so used to living her life in the role of the feminine.

As a result, you can get complacent in what it’s like to come from a feminine space.

And as a feminine being, your counterpart will have some masculine energy in them. (Remember, this is energy, not gender. We all have both energies within us!)

That means, when you are dealing with relationships and balance, you aren’t having to balance with just other feminine beings.

You have to balance with masculine too.

But, the masculine experiences life in such a polar way to the feminine.

And for the feminine to understand that way of life, she has to experience things for herself. Even if that means getting out of her comfort zone.

So for Venus to walk through life with the Aries robe for a while, she will learn a lot more about who she is partnering with and how to honor what it is like to come from that perspective.

During this transit, by braving your own unknown and trying on the masculine for size, you learn so much more about the other side. You take your mirror work to a whole new level.

Transits

April 21st:

Venus in Aries semi-sextile Sun in Taurus

The Sun in Taurus is asking us to tune into and shine light on what we value and what we are growing. During a semi-sextile, the two planets are one sign over and struggle to communicate naturally. With Venus in Aries, it will be important to move forward on your wants and desires, so take some time and reflect on what you value and what you want to grow, and communicate it to the feminine portion of your energy. Then, from there, implement what is most important to you as you create and manifest with Venus in Aries.

April 22nd:

Venus in Aries semi-sextile Uranus in Taurus

Uranus in Taurus is asking us to break free and do something different in a carefully thought out, purposeful, and sustainable way, thinking about the future and what is best for everyone involved. Just like with the semi-sextile with the Sun, you’ll need to sit down and evaluate what is most important for you under the Uranus in Taurus energy, and communicate this to Venus! In the balance you are working, where can you intentionally work in some conservation or forward-thinking innovation?

April 23rd:

Venus in Aries conjunct Chiron in Aries

Chiron represents the wounded healer, and in Aries he’s here to teach us about how we can heal our fears about the unknown through encouraging others and ourselves to keep moving forward. When Venus syncs up with him, there may be some moments of pain around life and all that it’s cut out to be, but don’t give up hope. There is healing in embracing your passions anyways.

May 5th:

Venus in Aries semi-sextile Neptune in Pisces

Neptune is a spiritual planet. It helps us clear our vibrations and connect to our soul. In Pisces, it’s here to teach us how to look past anything that is not the soul. If you are trying to understand what you are moving through with others and your relationship with yourself in a spiritual way, listen carefully. Take some time to really tune into the guidance your soul has for you, unattached to the situation yourself. Once you receive your message, return to what you are moving through and see where you can apply it. Move forward with what feels right.

May 6th:

Venus in Aries square North Node in Cancer, South Node in Capricorn

A square to the nodes can bring up some unfinished business from past lives, so be aware that if you are being asked to resolve something, it may not be from just this lifetime. The North Node in Cancer is here to show us where our soul has room to develop how we nurture, and the South Node in Capricorn is here to show us how capable we are of building into the future

Think about what you are learning when it comes to nurturing yourself and what your goals are when it comes to the future, and then ask yourself, right now in this moment, what do you need to let go of to keep moving forward? How does resolving old issues clear up the past and open up the future?

May 7th:

Venus in Aries square Saturn Retrograde in Capricorn

Saturn retrograde in Capricorn is asking us to focus on building only what is most important for us to build, and to determine what that is, search inward to what calls to you. At the same time,  it may be hard to see how other people fit into your future plans, especially the ones you’ve been working extra hard on. Be patient, this time will pass, and getting through it will actually solidify your bond with others.

How can you make a healthy work-life balance in your life with aspirations and relationships? Can you manage both if they don’t align perfectly? If so, what would that look like?

May 9th:

Venus in Aries trine Jupiter Retrograde in Sagittarius

Jupiter retrograde in Sagittarius is here to teach us the benefits of exporting the self. This is a great time for self-exploration and you will find that a lot of the inner work you are doing with Venus is bringing you self awareness and opportunities from within. Let the good vibrations flow!

Venus in Aries square Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn

Pluto retrograde in Capricorn is here to show you how to release fears about the future and claim your inner power. This clashes a bit with the Venus in Aries energy however because it calls on you to do a deep dive into how you feel and where you want to go. Give some time to both sides of things! Ask yourself where you need to let go and trust, where you feel called to go, and then keep letting yourself live presently in the moment through the Venus in Aries vibration.

May 14th:

Venus in Aries sextile Mars in Gemini

Mars is the ruler of Aries and represents the masculine. In Gemini, Mars is showing us how to start conversations and use dialogue to put yourself out there in the world.  The feminine is supported by the masculine in this journey, especially when it comes to discussion. Can you set out some time to talk about what you’re moving through? Doing so will help you feel much more understood, and help you understand a lot more of what’s going on!

The only planet Venus doesn’t make an aspect with is Mercury, which means that it may be hard to communicate how you feel during this time, except through the relief of Mars in Gemini, especially May 14th, and the Moon in Gemini from May 5th to May 8th. Be patient with yourself! No matter the astrological weather, everything is best served with some forethought and awareness.

Focus on your intentions, and live life fully!
